Dat is de conclusie van een onderzoek van George Psacharopoulos en Harry Patrinos, economen bij de Wereldbank, gebaseerd op een analyse van meer dan elfhonderd studies in bijna honderdveertig landen. De onderzoekers kwamen daarbij tot de vaststelling dat elk bijkomend jaar scholing een gemiddeld rendement van 8,8 procent oplevert (Education has guaranteed better returns over the past decades than the stock market.
